Sales Operations Manager


We’re looking for a Sales Operations Manager, who will be a key member of a small and highly collaborative Business Development team, directly leading key sales initiatives for Peer Insight.

You will play a critical role in managing and improving the firm’s sales process. You’ll focus on driving week-over-week improvements to the sales team’s operations, including by enabling more efficient usage of the CRM (HubSpot), capturing and analyzing data, refining processes, improving sales and marketing assets, and implementing new technologies and practices. Each week you’ll help identify and execute sales priorities, where you will have real ownership of business results.

This a part-time contractor position with the potential for a long-term extension of the contract. Candidates can anticipate that the responsibilities below should reflect 20-25 hours per week, five days a week.



  • Take a lead role in the development of sales process improvements that help the sales team work more effectively and efficiently week-over-week
  • Support the Business Development team in leveraging the CRM (HubSpot) and other sales tools
  • Enable the 3-person sales team to easily track and analyze sales data and activities
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies, and delegate tasks that achieve strategic goals
  • Track team performance and report metrics
  • Be a curious experimenter within our sales engine that is willing to tinker, build, and pivot as we learn and improve over time

Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Responsibilities

Sales Operations

  • Create the appropriate data capture, flow, & processes for maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of weekly team sales meetings
  • Train sales team on new technology, software, and processes
  • Determine the right data to capture & analyze to help the sales team make weekly, monthly, and quarterly decisions
  • Prepare reporting and agenda for the weekly sales meeting
  • Partner with sales leadership to augment and/or automate current administrative or manual processes

Sales Enablement

  • Track weekly sales activities and data
  • Lead weekly sales team meetings
  • Identify the parts of the sales ecosystem (process, talent, capacity, data, collaboration, etc.) that need fine tuning and lead the design & execution of the improvement 
  • Maintain a holistic understanding and view of the sales pipeline at all times, helping the team know where to spend their time – in terms of tasks and larger strategic focus areas 
  • Support sales meeting preparation by conducting research on prospects

Business Development

  • Measure and report key metrics related to the health of the sales pipeline to inform adjacent firm operations such as project management, staffing, and hiring during monthly firm strategy meetings.
  • Support marketing initiatives, like a monthly newsletter
  • Work with a third party email marketing vendor to support and improve lead generation efforts


The targeted rate for our Sales Ops Manager is $50-70 per hour, with an estimated time of 20-25 hours per week. Our desired minimum contract length is for 90 days with the possibility to extend.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Broader business operations experience (program or project management)
  • Can identify, set, and pivot against operational KPIs/OKRs/Next Best Actions
  • Experience developing and/or refining Sales processes and materials
  • Familiar with sales in a service organization
  • “Curious experimenter” mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Process improvement mindset / experience
  • Worked with a small company or start-up
  • Professional services / consulting background
  • Experience with Hubspot
